Solheim Cup
“Solheim Cup ” Tournament (in Spanish Copa Solheim) is a tournament that pits women’s teams of professional players from Europe and the United States against each other. It has the same format as the Ryder Cup and is held biannually. The first year the tournament was held was in 1990, always taking place in different places on even years. Since the Ryder Cup calendar was modified in 2023, it has been held in odd years. The duration of the tournament is three days with exactly the same format as the Ryder: a total of twenty-eight matches: eight foursomes, eight fourballs and twelve singles on the last day.
Finca Cortesín
Finca Cortesín Golf & Spa is a magnificent resort located 1.5 km from the beach, between Marbella and Sotogrande, and only 20 minutes by car from Puerto Banús. The hotel’s 18-hole golf course has been designed by Cabell Robinson. It also houses a Jack Nicklaus academy, 2 tennis courts and 2 paddle tennis courts. It has hosted the annual Volvo World Match Play championship in 2009, 2011 and 2012. The REI by Finca Cortesin is the hotel’s flagship restaurant. The golf club restaurant overlooks the golf course and the Mediterranean Sea. The Cortesín spa has an indoor pool, gym, Turkish bath, sauna and an exclusive snow cave. Treatments include a massage service.
